Arthur Coates & Kerran Cotterell have quickly built a reputation as one of the UK folk scene’s most exciting emerging live acts, combining high-energy instrumental performance, close vocal harmony, foot percussion and contemporary songwriting rooted in traditional music from both sides of the Atlantic.

The duo have showcased at major folk industry events and festivals including:

In 2025, the duo were winners of the Robinson Emerging Artist Showcase at Goderich Celtic Roots Festival in Ontario, Canada.

In 2021 they were nominated for Upcoming Artist of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards.

Arthur Coates & Kerran Cotterell are currently part of the Sound Roots Artist Mentoring Pathway, supported by PRS Foundation and Arts Council England, developing international touring, export strategy and showcase opportunities.
